Contrasting the knowledge management innovations and their corresponding outcomes leads to development of five hypotheses. Results analyzed show that only a few organizations pursue knowledge management practices. Some of the organizations have adopted the practices while a few are planning to develop frameworks to apply the management practices. Other organizations have not adopted the knowledge management practices as they lack understanding of the concept and dont consider them to be useful. These results are the same in all industry sectors. However, differences can be noted when companies are grouped based on size. The analysis shows that social innovations are most popular knowledge management innovations in the industry. A substantial number of companies pursue social innovation. Companies that use technological and organizational innovations are about the same. However, social innovation is the greatest innovation adopted by companies despite technological innovation being approved to have the greatest scope. The research finds adoption of knowledge management innovations to be below average. Weaknesses in adopting knowledge management of practices require further examination. Major hindrances to adoption of the practices discussed include: Few companies have developed knowledge management frameworks Companies are inflexible and slow in designing and implementing knowledge management processes. Management is not aware of the benefits gained from knowledge management practices. Few companies have implemented or plan to implement the practices The research recommends companies to not only embrace knowledge management tools but also adopt innovative solutions or think outside the box to reap benefits.
